Fabinho's transfer to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad is reportedly at risk of collapse, with the midfielder now expected to rejoin pre-season training with Liverpool.
The 29-year-old had been in talks with the Saudi Pro League over a £40 million switch.
According to the Athletic, talks remain ongoing but there has been a delay in the deal.
The Brazilian midfielder is now expected to return to training on Wednesday, unless a resolution is found.
Fabinho was been left out of Liverpool's pre-season training camp in Germany by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp due to the prospective transfer.
